Sunday Morning Prayer and Discussion
As we journey into a new phase of life and ministry as a congregation, we want to spend some time seeking the Lord's will for our congregation through prayer and discussion. Each Sunday, between now and the end of the calendar year, we will gather at 9am to pray through, and discuss, the following questions as we read and meditate on Scripture.
As we look to the future of The Gathering Lutheran Church…
- What is God laying on your heart concerning The Gathering Lutheran Church?
- What does God want to see happen here in the lives of the people at this church and in the community?
- What does God want to see happen on the property where the church is currently located?
- What changes need to take place place in order to accomplish these things?
We would love for everyone join us.

Thanksgiving Community Luncheon
The Thanksgiving luncheon of 2019 is coming up quickly. Rachel Gray and Derek Brooks will again be hosting this meal with our help.
Derek states that, "The Lord is constantly at work and continues to reveal His presence in and through people. Especially, in our time that we share together as family. The essence behind the luncheon is to have a home cooked meal to share with the inner city, the lost, those that are in pain, the very many that are disconnected from society, and the many that are physically alone. The message that powers the luncheon is that we are not alone and we are family in Christ. We can find Solace in Christ and in his many references such as “Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God. 'Blessed are you who are hungry now, for you shall be satisfied. Blessed are you who weep now, for you shall laugh.' (Luke 6:20-21)"
Rachel and Derek would like to invite everyone to get involved and walk alongside them in any way possible. Some have donated to the cause in various ways, while others have come to spend time with us and our folks during the luncheon. Where ever you feel God moving you to be, please join us as we walk with them.
They have a wish list for items that they will need for the luncheon such as:
- Turkey 12-15lb
- Aluminum foil
- Aluminum Pans
- Plastic Utensils (Forks, Spoons)
- Paper Plates
- Plastic Cups (9oz)
- Pie (Apple, Cherry, Pecan, Pumpkin)
Thank you greatly.
If you would like to get involved, please contact Derek or Rachel, they would love for you to help.
